State, federal officials investigating spread of food borne illness

The state department of public health is continuing its investigation into a rising number of food borne illness in Illinois.
Since mid-May, there have been 243 people in Illinois who have fallen ill due to the Cyclospora parasite.
More than a third of the patients got sick after eating a salad from McDonald’s.State officials are working with the C-D-C to determine other sources of the bug. That includes fresh imported produce like raspberries and lettuce.
