CARBONDALE — The Southern Illinois Salukis added wide receiver Raphael Leonard to their 2017 recruiting class. Leonard attended Florida Atlantic University in 2015 before transferring to East Mississippi Community College last year.
Head Coach Nick Hill was very excited about the signing tweeting about it twice. Last night, Hill sent out a tweet that read “Huge news for Saluki Football! Getting a big time playmaker our Qbs are going to love to throw to! Welcome Ralph.” Friday morning, Hill followed up with another tweet:

The junior was ranked as the second-best receiver in touchdowns in the Mississippi Association of Community & Junior Colleges with a total of seven. Leonard also caught 23 receptions for 357 yards.
Leonard is the first wide receiver and seventh player overall to commit to Southern Illinois this offseason.
