Illinois House considers new gun bill

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is proposing new gun dealer legislation in hopes of keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals.
The measure is a rewrite of the gun dealer licensing bill vetoed by Governor Rauner, and a much better version says House Sponsor Representative Kathleen Willis.
The bill requires federally licensed gun dealers to be certified by the state, sets up a study of gun trafficking in Illinois, and places restrictions on private gun sales.
Dealers would have to make sure inventory is secured, employees are trained, and have video surveillance in their stores.
Willis says they worked to reduce a lot of the red tape in the original version.
