SIU Carbondale Chancellor Carlo Montemagno says he’ll be taking a temporary step out of the public eye. Montemagno announced yesterday that he’s undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.
In a statement published to his blog, Montemagno says the cancer is being treated aggressively and that he’s confident that he’ll be around for a long time.
He adds that he plans to remain fully engaged as chancellor during this time.
