Former healthcare worker sentenced on fraud charged

BENTON, IL. (WJPF) – A former employee of Southern Illinois Healthcare has been sentenced to eighteen months behind bars on federal fraud charges.
Prosecutors say Cary Mosley worked for both SIH and QED Medical Physics, a contractor that had provided support services to the radiation oncology department. Mosley held those positions from December of 2006 to July of 2013.
Mosley had previously pleaded guilty to fraudulently altering timekeeping entries and invoices. This double billing scheme resulted in Mosley being paid nearly $600,000 by QED for work done at SIH.
In addition to the prison time, Mosley must also pay $1.2 million in restitution to SIH and serve a year of home confinement.
