CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois senior Luke Gannon was named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, winning the award for the first time in his career. At the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame, Gannon tied for 17th with a score of 209 and was four-under par for the three rounds of the tournament.
Of his 11 rounds this season, he has been even or under par in nine of them, including a five-under par 67 in the final round of the Fighting Irish Classic, a career best. Gannon has finished three of the four tournaments of the season in the top 25.
