Lincoln papers project gets grant for tracking software

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) – An ongoing project to digitize all of Abraham Lincoln’s papers has received a grant.
Officials announced Tuesday that the Abraham Lincoln Association has given a $6,000 grant to the digitization project at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum .
The grant will pay for software for the Papers of Abraham Lincoln to track hundreds of thousands of documents related to the 16th president.
Association president Bob Willard says the project is “the 21st century effort to make the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln available to the widest possible audience.”
The project in April launched a digital library of every known Lincoln document from the first 33 years of his life. It gave access to 340 documents written by or to Lincoln and 4,800 that provided context of Lincoln’s work.
