WEST FRANKFORT, IL. (WJPF) — A longtime staple of West Frankfort, Bob Ellis, has passed away.
The Hawk was 82.
Ellis worked for many years at The West Frankfort Daily American, serving as both a reporter and managing editor.
Ellis also served as the mayor of West Frankfort. He sat on the Board of Directors for The Night’s Shield Children’s Charity.
Ellis was cremated. A memorial service will be held at later date.
