JACKSON COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – A pair of Good Samaritans are being credited with pulling a driver from flood waters in Jackson County.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the accident scene on westbound 13 near Airport Road just after 11:00 AM Monday. A driver had traveled off the right side of the roadway, down an embankment, partially submerging the vehicle in a body of flood water.
When first responders arrived, two men had already pulled the unresponsive driver from the vehicle, had the driver to higher ground, and had covered the driver to keep warm. The driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
