Miners Announce New Broadcast Partnership

Southern Illinois games to air on 1035espn.com, home games simulcast on UStream

Marion, IL (March 18, 2019) – The Southern Illinois Miners announce that they have partnered with River Radio in an exclusive, multi-year agreement to broadcast their games online at 1035espn.com.

The five-year agreement, beginning in 2019, covers all Miners regular season and postseason games, as well as two preseason games per year. Jason Guerette will return for a sixth season in the broadcast booth as the “Voice of the Miners,” providing live play-by-play commentary for each contest.

All home games at Rent One Park will also continue to be simulcast on Ustream.tv, and feature a four-camera, HD setup in addition to live game audio from 1035espn.com.

“This is exciting for us,” Miners COO Mike Pinto said. “We have had a longtime relationship with River Radio, and the decision to partner with them for our broadcasts was a natural one. We have worked with them on so many things over the years. They have invested in the technology to help bring our fans the best broadcasts possible, and have the depth of marketing to be sure all Miners fans in the area know about our games.”

“River Radio is very excited to take our long-standing relationship with the Southern Illinois Miners to the next level as the new home for Miners baseball on 1035espn.com,” said Steve Falat, GM and Market Manager for River Radio. “With technology continuing to improve and grow as it is, listeners are finding new ways to listen to their favorite radio stations for news, sports, music, and entertainment. So now, fans of the Miners can listen to both home and road games on their desktop, tablet, smart phone, and smart speaker on 1035.espn.com.”
