Regional, partisan divided in approval of elected leaders

CARBONDALE, IL. (WJPF) – New polling data from the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute indicates a partisan and regional divide when it comes to approval elected leaders.
Two months into his first term, Governor JB Pritzker averages a 40% approval rating. 38% disapprove.
Those numbers change along party lines. 65% of democrats approve of the governor’s performance. Only 15% of republicans have a positive view of Pritzker. Downstate, Pritzker’s approval rating is 34%.
Senator Dick Durbin, who’s up for re-election next year, averaged a 51% approval rating. Downstate, 42% approve of Durbin’s performance.
