The 9th Annual Sustainable Living Film Series continues Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at 5:30 pm with a screening of “Beyond Food,” hosted by Ryan Schaefer, DPT of Integrated Health of Southern Illinois.
Beyond Food is fresh, fascinating, and funny, challenging the idea that all people must experience food and health in the same way. Beyond Food explores the ways a group of extraordinary people live amazing lives, eat delicious food while extracting more energy and mental focus from their daily rituals. Biohackers, Paleo, Vegan, Neuroscientists, Athletes, Foragers, Ranchers, Farmers, Gut scientists. Everyone who is desiring to learn how to fuel and create an extraordinary life is invited to this film. Beyond Food shows how there are many options to feel powerful and healthy with outstanding brainpower and energy to show up for your life, fearless and unstoppable everyday, following your bliss. These are not quick fixes or magic-bullet solutions, this is a way of life.
Sustainable Living Film Series is a free documentary screening series open to the public, held 5:30 pm every first Wednesday of the month, April-October, in the back room of the Longbranch Café and Bakery, 100 E. Jackson Street, Carbondale, Illinois. The film series is a public service and companion project of the Sustainable Living Guide for Southern Illinois, published since 2002 by Dayemi Tariqat, a 501(c)3 non-profit service organization located in Carbondale, Illinois.
The mission of the Sustainable Living Film Series to encourage personal and social responsibility, build awareness and support sustainable living in Southern Illinois. Each film is followed by a discussion hosted by local professionals.
