Barge recovery efforts continue

Recovery efforts on six barges that were sucked into the Len Small Levee breach in Alexander County continue.
An official with the U.S. Coast Guard in Paducah has reported two of the barges are still in their original spot floating on farmland. The other four were pulled toward the river and are now stuck near Miller City Road.
Officials have called a professional salvage company to help get the barges back into the Mississippi River. The company was expected to arrive on the scene today or Saturday.
