JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. (WJPF) — A Johnston City woman is custody after leaving her 2-year-old child in a hot car.
Police were called to the Dollar General in Johnston City on Sunday after passersby saw the child in the car with the motor turned off and the windows rolled up.
Officers got the child out of the car. It was then taken to a hospital and has since been released.
The mother, 33-year-old Devyn Imhoff, was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment, Child Abandonment, and Obstructing Justice.
The 2-year-old and another child of Imhoff’s were taken into DCFS custody.
