SIH alters visitor policy due to Coronavirus outbreak

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — The area’s largest healthcare provider has changed it’s visitor policy in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak.
SIH announced the “no-visitor” policy yesterday.
There are exceptions to the no visitor rule. Birthing center, pediatric, emergency room, end-of-life patients, as well as patients with behavioral health issues, developmental delays, or an altered mental status may have one dedicated support person. Other considerations are being made on a case-by-case basis. Visitors under 18 are not allowed at this time.
All visitors to SIH facilities will undergo a temperature check and health screening before entering the building.
