Third arrest made in connection to Carbondale shooting, standoff

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A third arrest has been made in connection to a shooting and police standoff last week in Carbondale.
27-year-old Deaundre Wimberly, of Carbondale, was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon.
On Monday, March 23, a fight between acquaintances led to shots being fired in the 400 block of East Ashley Street. One of the suspects, Williams Stewart, fled into a nearby apartment in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street, and refused to cooperate with police for several hours.
A third suspect, Josten Denwood has also been arrested in connection to the incident.
