Tuesday night, SIU Basketball received their first commitment from the class of 2021: Scottie Ebube of Mundelein, a 6’9 center.
“I’m beyond excited and honored to announce that I am continuing my academic and athletic career at Southern Illinois University,” Ebube said in his statement on Twitter. “Can’t wait to be a Saluki!”

This past season at Mundelein, Ebube averaged 14.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while helping the Mustangs to a 29-4 record and reaching the 4A Mt. Prospect Sectional Finals game before the rest of the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
Ebube earned several postseason honors including IBCA Honorable Mention. His commitment is non-binding however he is able to sign with SIU in November.
