Baker resigns coaching position, still employed by school district

MARION, Ill. (WJPF) — Marion High School Girls Track Coach Sara Baker has resigned her coaching position, but remains employed by the school district.
The decision was made Wednesday night at the Marion School Board meeting.
Baker, who was accused of using derogatory, racially-charged language towards a Black student, will also be required to go through racial sensitivity training.
Baker remains on paid leave through the end of this school year. She may be transferred to Adams School, but hat decision will be made at a future school board meeting.
