WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJPF) — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul will testify Tuesday in front of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
According to his office, Raoul will discuss efforts to protect student borrowers from deceptive practices by for-profit schools that mislead students into taking out expensive loans for programs that offer little in terms of employment opportunities.
Raoul is expected to urge the committee to pass legislation that will give student borrowers bankruptcy relief.
