Illinois State Police investigated a fatal traffic accident shortly before 1:30 Sunday afternoon in Randolph County.
Police say 26-year-old Flinten Thompson of Tilden was operating an ATV eastbound on Sarah Road when he failed to stop at the intersection with Illinois Route 153. He was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 29-year-old Adam Brothers of Sparta. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. Brothers and a passenger in his truck were not hurt.
