MAYFIELD, Ky. (WJPF) – The owners of Mayfield Consumer Products, the candle factory where eight workers were killed in last month’s tornadoes, are laying off 250 employees.
The jobs are not expected to return in the immediate future. About half of the company’s employees will be transferred to a second factory location.
Survivors of the December tornado and building collapse have filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming management refused to let employees go home early when the storm was approaching.
