14-year-old pulls trigger in Carbondale shooting

 
CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Carbondale say a 14-year-old shot a person when the teenager was caught trespassing.
The incident happened at about 5:40 p.m. last Friday in the 500 block of South Graham Street.
Police say the victim confronted the 14-year-old who then fired several shots, hitting the victim at least once. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 14-year-old ran from the scene.
The Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office is handling the case.
