Du Quoin native Tyler Reddick signs with 23XI

Du Quoin native Tyler Reddick has been finding himself in the headlines in recent weeks.  On July 3rd, Reddick broke through and claimed his first Cup Series victory at Road America, guiding the #8 car to it’s first victory since 2006.  On Tuesday, the 26-year-old capitalized on that victory and signed a new contract with Michael Jordan’s racing team, 23XI.
Reddick’s new contract goes in to effect in 2024.  Until that time, he’ll remain with Richard Childress Racing.
Denny Hamlin, who is a minority owner in 23XI, was the one who had pursued the up-and-comer.
“I wanted him, and I got him,” said Hamlin during a press conference.  “I didn’t know anything else that goes along with that… There are no hidden secrets here.  We do not know who the sponsor will be.  We do not know what car it is.  All we know is we wanted him.”
23XI currently has two cars on their team; Bubba Wallace drives the #23 car and Kurt Busch drives the #45 car.
