Nine Salukis men’s basketball team members earn Honors Court honors

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Nine Southern Illinois men’s basketball players were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court — the most in program history.
The members of the 2021-22 team who were recognized by the NABC on Tuesday were Anthony D’Avanzo (Business Administration), Ben Harvey (Sport Administration), J.D. Muila (Criminology and Criminal Justice), Lance Jones (Sport Administration), Marcus Domask (Sport Administration), Sekou Dembele (Sport Administration), Steven Verplancken Jr. (Sport Administration), Trent Brown (Finance) and Will Keller (Computer Engineering).
To earn the Honors Court award, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior or grad student academically, and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Saluki Basketball was also recognized with the NABC’s Team Award, which requires a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the 2021-22 season.
