Harrisburg Girls Basketball adds former Benton coach to staff

Earlier this year, former Benton Girls Basketball coach Andy Sloan resigned from his position after it was decided that administrators at Benton Consolidated High School cannot coach sports.
Wednesday, it was announced the former Rangerettes coach – who was 203-81 during his time as their head coach – has found a new job.
Sloan has accepted an assistant coach position at Harrisburg where he will aid Girls Basketball coach Jake Stewart.
“Coach Sloan brings a lot of experience and insight to our program,” the Lady Bulldogs program said in a statement.  “He is a proven winner and has maintained one of the best Girls Basketball programs in Southern Illinois for over ten years… We could not pass up the opportunity of pursuing Coach Sloan to join our staff…”
The statement states that Sloan’s main focus will be as their Scouting Coordinator.
