Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division arrested a Woodlawn man this week on a violation of parole.
55-year-old David Lamar was previously incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections on charges of burglary and unlawful use of a weapon. A search warrant was obtained for Lamar’s residence. Police gathered drugs, weapons and items used in the production of methamphetamine. Detectives saw Lamar leave his residence, conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle and took him into custody.
