The Southern Illinois University Women’s Basketball team released its non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday afternoon with several notable matchups.
The Salukis are eager to start the season and return to the Banterra Center, a place Southern finished a perfect 11-0 a year ago.
Fans will get their first look at the new Saluki roster Nov. 5 when SIU hosts McKendree in an exhibition game.
SIU starts its regular season Nov. 12 at home against the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State University. On Nov. 16, Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI) comes to Carbondale for a mid-week showdown.
Southern’s first road game of the season is Nov. 19 when the Salukis head north for a battle with Northwestern in Evanston. In their second Power Five matchup in a row, SIU hosts Memphis Nov. 22 at the Banterra Center.
For the second year in a row, the Salukis will compete in the Christmas City Classic, hosted by Lehigh University, in Bethlehem, Pa. Southern will play Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 in the annual event.
On Dec. 1, Southern will welcome Chicago State University to Carbondale.
The Salukis then take on back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference foes when they host Tennessee State on Dec. 7 and Southeast Missouri State on Dec. 11.
Southern’s non-conference slate ends Dec. 21 when they take on the Billikins of St. Louis University on the road.

MVC SCHEDULE
The 2022-23 MVC Schedule will be announced Thursday as the conference slate goes to 20 games this season. The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament is scheduled for March 9-12 in Moline, Ill.
