One arrested after shots fired in Carbondale’s Arbor District

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police have made another arrest involving the unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday, Carbondale Police say 29-year-old James Johnson of Carbondale fired several shots in the area of South Hayes and West College Streets. No injuries or property damage were reported. Johnson fled the scene, but police were given a description of his vehicle and he was taken into custody a short time later.
James Johnson was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration.
