MOLINE, Ill. – Ashley Jones, Quierra Love, and Jaidynn Mason have all received All-Conference honors for their performances in 2022-23.
Jones has been named to the All-MVC Second Team and All-Newcomer Team, Love was named to the All-Defensive Team, and Mason was awarded a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
In her first season at SIU, Jones led the team and was fourth in the conference with 17.4 points-per-game. The graduate student was also top five in the league in assists, averaging 4.0 assists-per-game during the regular season.
Love’s 2.0 steals-per-game ranked third in the Valley and led the Salukis. The junior guard had multiple steals in 14 games this season. This is the first time Love has been featured on an All-Defensive Team in her collegiate career.
Mason made the All-Freshman Team after averaging 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals-per-game in her first year at Southern Illinois. The freshman’s steals averaged ranked fifth in the Valley.
The Salukis will next take the court on Thursday at 6 p.m., when they take on Indiana State in the first round of Hoops in the Heartland. That game will be broadcast on 95.1 Steve FM, Trey Reamer has pregame starting at 5:45 p.m.
