Logan receives commitment from Carterville star Hawkins

Jonh A. Logan men’s basketball has begun to tap the local talent for next year’s roster.  Carterville Lions star Caden Hawkins announced on social media Thursday night that he is committing to the NJCAA National Champions.

Logan has had a steady pipeline from Carterville High School in recent years.  In the 2021-22 season, former Lions Justin Johnson, Austin Garbe, and Eli Downen were all members of the Vols.  This past season, Downen played a role off the bench to help the Vols win the NJCAA National Championship.

Hawkins, the son of former Saluki sharpshooter and current Carterville head coach Shane Hawkins, isn’t the only local talent that Logan is looking at.  Marion star Evan Noelle is expected to sign a letter of intent to play for Logan next week as well.
