Tools stolen from Williamson Co. Highway Department recovered

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Thousands of dollars worth of tools, recently stolen from the Williamson County Highway Department, have been recovered.

The break-in and burglary happened August 9.  Two days later, the sheriff’s office received a tip that several of the stolen items had shown up at pawn shops in Evansville, Indiana. The sheriff’s office says they’ve identified a suspect as an Evansville man, and promise an arrest to be forthcoming.

The stolen tools were valued at over $15,400.
