CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference announced the League’s 2023-24 conference slate on Friday, completing the Saluki men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming year.
Including the 10 Missouri Valley Conference games, the Salukis will host a total of 18 games at Banterra Center – the most home games in program history.
The 11-game nonconference slate features highly anticipated home matchups versus Saint Louis (Dec. 2) and Oklahoma State (Dec. 5).

With the transition to a 20-game schedule a year ago, SIU will play two MVC teams just one time per season. This season, the Salukis will not make the trip to Springfield to face Missouri State while Evansville will not travel to Carbondale.
Southern begins conference action in late November with a trip to Terre Haute to faceoff with Indiana State on Nov. 28. With a month break in conference action, the Salukis will return home for a pair of games inside Banterra Center as UIC comes to town on December 30 and the Salukis host Belmont on January 2.
Southern takes to the road for a pair of road games at Illinois State (Jan. 6) and Valparaiso (Jan. 10) before returning home to face Drake (Jan. 13) and Bradley (Jan. 17). SIU will make its way to Cedar Falls to take on Northern Iowa on January 20 before returning home to face Valparaiso on January 24.
SIU will faceoff with regional rival Murray State in a Saturday showdown on the road in Murray on January 27 before its lone meeting with Missouri State on January 31 at home.
The month of February opens with a pair of road games for the Salukis – first at UIC (Feb. 3) before heading to Drake (Feb. 7). Southern will then head home for a single game against Illinois State on February 10 before taking on Belmont in Nashville on Valentine’s Day.
SIU hosts Indiana State in a Saturday showdown on February 17 before Murray State comes to town on February 21. SIU plays its final two road matchups at Evansville (Feb. 25) and Bradley (Feb. 28) before hosting Northern Iowa in the regular season finale on March 3.
Arch Madness is set for March 7-10 in St. Louis at Enterprise Center.
