DUQUOIN, Ill. (WJPF) – Overall attendance was down for the 2023 Du Quoin State Fair.
Officials with the Illinois Department of Agriculture say 166,733 people attended this year’s fair. Ticket sales from grandstand shows brought in over $417,000
Officials say attendance the first weekend of the fair was hampered by extreme heat. The opening parade was canceled due to an excessive heat warning.
The 2023 Du Quoin Stat Fair drew about 4,300 less people than the 2022 fair, but about 16,000 more than it did in 2021.
