Man shoots parked vehicle during domestic dispute

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A man is facing several felony charges in connection to a domestic incident and shooting in Carbondale.

Police say at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, David Ward, 24, of Carbondale, was involved in an argument when he opened fire on an unoccupied vehicle parked in the 300 block of South Cedar View Street, hitting it several times. No one was hurt in the shooting, but the victim did receive minor injuries related to a physical altercation. They declined medical treatment.

David Ward was arrested and a gun was recovered. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges including unlawful restraint, domestic battery, and unlawful discharge of firearm.
