Former John A. Logan College pitcher Andrew Hoffmann is headed to The Show for the Kansas City Royals.
The former Vols pitcher was only with the team in the 2020 season before the season was abruptly cut off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In his short time with Logan, Hoffmann started five games with 26 innings pitched, 46 strikeouts, a 2.08 ERA, and a WHIP of 0.88.
Following his time with Logan, Hoffmann went on to the University of Illinois where he impressed with a 2.87 ERA and 3-0 record across 11 games. Later that year he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves.
Hoffmann has impressed this season at Trple-A with 19 games as a relief pitcher. Across 25 1/3 innings, Hoffmann has 37 strikeouts and only given up one home run. He has a 2.84 ERA.
