FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – A 3 year old has died after a drowning incident in Franklin County.
On Friday, June 27 around 2:45pm, the sheriff’s office received a 911 call of a possible drowning at a residence in Akin. The caller stated that the victim was 3 years old and that CPR was in progress.
Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene.
The child was soon transported by ambulance to the Franklin Hospital in Benton and later pronounced deceased.
This tragic incident is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
