MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – An armed stand-off with police in Marion ended without injuries Saturday.
According to the Marion Police Department, at about 7:00 a.m., shots were fired inside of a home in the 300 block of East Main Street.
When officers arrived, a woman, seen running out of the house just after the gunshots, told officers that the man still inside the home was David Shoenecke, 72, and that he had threatened to kill her and himself.
After about an hour of negotiations, Shoenecke surrendered to authorities.
