Saluki men’s basketball get commitment from Pinckneyville forward Laur

SIU men’s basketball extended an offer to Pinckneyville Panthers senior forward Ty Laur last Thursday.  On Monday night, Laur made his decision – he’ll be a Saluki.

The 6’8 forward impressed earlier this summer with an average of 21 points and 12 rebounds in four games at a live event in Romeoville.

His junior season saw Laur average 13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 3.5 assists.  He shot 72 percent from inside the arc and 43 percent from outside the arc.  He was a 73 percent free throw shooter.

Laur earned SIRR All Conference honors as well as All Tournament honors at both the Kaskaskian Classic and Sparta MidWinter Classic.

SIU beats out North Dakota State for the Pinckneyville star who ends up being teh first verbal commit from the Class of 2026 for Scott Nagy.
