
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Two have been arrested after a traffic stop in Herrin.
At 12:41am August 1, deputies assigned to conduct Community Impact Patrols in Herrin observed a stolen vehicle traveling near 23rd Street and Herrin Road.
Numerous patrol units were able to assist in containing the vehicle in a driveway in the 12000 block of Hafer Road.
The driver, April Watson and passenger, Daniel Morgan were taken into custody.
Deputies located drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes, and credit cards belonging to others in the vehicle.
To the surprise of Deputies they also located a three week old puppy sealed in a rubber bag. The puppy was transferred to Williamson County Animal Control where it is receiving the care and attention needed to make a full recovery.
Watson was cited for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Another’s Credit Card, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Morgan was cited for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Animal Cruelty, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both were taken to the Williamson County Jail.
