Scott Nagy announces staff promotions for Tae Gibbs, Darreon Reddick, Justin Endsley ahead of 2025-26 season

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois men’s basketball head coach Scott Nagy has announced three promotions within his coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season. Tae Gibbs and Darreon Reddick have been elevated to assistant coaches, while Justin Endsley has been named deputy assistant to the head coach.

“We’re thrilled to reward the hard work and commitment Tae, Darreon and Justin have demonstrated,” Nagy said. “They’ve each made a meaningful impact on our program and will continue to be vital in the growth and development of our student-athletes.”

Gibbs enters his second season with the Salukis and will continue to serve as the team’s offensive coordinator during games. Before arriving in Carbondale, Gibbs spent three seasons at Wright State as the director of player development under Nagy. While at WSU, he helped develop five all-league selections and played a key role in the Raiders’ 2022 Horizon League Championship and First Four win over Bryant – Wright State’s first NCAA Division I Tournament victory.

In 2024, Wright State emerged as one of the most efficient offensive teams in the country, leading the nation in field goal percentage (53.3), ranking second in effective field goal percentage (58.5), fifth in two-point percentage (58.8), and tenth in three-point percentage (38.3). The Raiders averaged 86.5 points per game, fourth-best in the country.

Prior to his time at Wright State, Gibbs spent three seasons at Trevecca Nazarene University, rising to associate head coach after initially joining the staff ahead of the 2018-19 season. He also spent one season as an assistant at Wheaton College.

Reddick also enters his second year at SIU after serving on staff in 2024-25. He came to Carbondale following a one-year stint as an assistant at SIU Edwardsville, where he helped guide the Cougars to a 17-16 overall record and a run to the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Two players earned All-OVC honors during his time with the program.

Before his time at SIUE, Reddick spent two seasons at Missouri S&T, where he helped lead the Miners to their first winning season in 27 years in 2022-23. He served as interim head coach for the final five games of that season, going 3-2 with notable wins over UMSL and GLVC Tournament champion McKendree. His coaching career also includes time as an assistant at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.

A four-year letterwinner at Tennessee State, Reddick appeared in 121 games with 103 starts from 2014 to 2018, averaging 7.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Endsley enters his third season with the Saluki program and transitions into a full-time role as deputy assistant to the head coach. He works closely with the coaching staff on a daily basis and is responsible for overseeing the student manager program, organizing recruiting visits, and coordinating with departments across Saluki Athletics, including academics and facilities. Endsley also manages team travel, weekly schedules, camps, and community outreach initiatives.

A 2023 graduate of SIU, Endsley served as a student manager for four seasons and was promoted to head manager after his sophomore year. He was selected as one of five college hosts for the NFHS National Student Leadership Summit in both 2022 and 2023. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration.
