Guns, cannabis seized during traffic stop

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two guns and cannabis were seized during a traffic stop in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say officers pulled over the vehicle late Saturday night in the 500 block of West Freeman Street. During the stop, officers saw a firearm inside the vehicle. When the vehicle was searched, officers found a second firearm and an illegal amount of suspected cannabis.

Two passengers, Henry Dolman, 20, of Cordova, Tennessee and Corey Trap, 18, of Kankakee, Illinois, were each found in possession of a firearm. Dolman was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. Trap was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of cannabis. They were taken to the Jackson County Jail. 

The driver, Brayden Taylor, 20, of Carbondale, was cited for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol and released.
