West Frankfort Man Facing A Long List of Charges

A West Frankfort man is behind bars after authorities say he rammed a police cruiser and injured a deputy during a pursuit in Williamson County.

Deputies found a stolen vehicle Saturday afternoon in Herrin — but when they tried to box it in, the driver, identified as Kyle Kalaher, hit a patrol car several times before taking off.

The chase went through parts of Route 148 and Route 13, where officials say Kalaher struck another vehicle before being caught near Bainbridge Road.

Both Kalaher and the injured deputy were taken to the hospital. Deputies say meth and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

Kalaher now faces a long list of charges, including aggravated battery to a peace officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
