Police investigate shooting in Harrisburg that left one person seriously injured

HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) – Police are investigating a shooting in Harrisburg that left one person seriously injured.

Dispatch received a 911 call May 12 around 3:45pm to a residence on Michigan St.

Responding officers located a 25 year old female walking to the hospital near the intersection of Michigan and National, with a gunshot wound to the face. 

The victim and her boyfriend identified the suspect as 30 year old Amy Tolley of Harrisburg. 

Officers began a search and located Tolley at a residence on the west side of Harrisburg a little after 6:30pm.

Tolley was taken into custody and charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

The victim was immediately taken to the Harrisburg Medical Center where she was transferred to a trauma center.
