LISTEN: Kyle Smithpeter’s statement on leaving for Mizzou

Thursday, John A. Logan men’s basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters was announced as an assistant coach to new Missouri coach Dennis Gates.  As he prepares to depart for Columbia, Smithpeters gave a parting statement that you can listen to below. Smithpeters went 241-73 over 10 seasons as the head coach of the Vols and coached a pair of NJCAA Player of the Year in Sean East, who is also headed to Mizzou, and Jay Scrubb who went directly to the NBA after his time at John A. Logan College. Smithpeters plans to join Sportsvoice on Saturday morning.
