The Elverado Falcons were selected as the Southern Illinois Healthcare Team of the Week in the opening week of basketball season in Southern Illinois. Elverado began the season 5-0 and the winners of the Crab Orchard Thanksgiving Tournament. Matt Varney talked with Falcons coach Jacob Emling on the Elverado’s historic start, their first loss this past Tuesday to Marissa-Coulterville, the team’s experience, star Aquntez Penn who just passed 1500 career points, and expectations for this season.
