Pets Are Worth Saving, INC. (PAWS) is a not-for-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization. Paws was founded as a means of dealing with the increase in the animal population — specifically dogs and cats — in the Union County (Illinois) area. Paws was formed primarily to prevent the destruction of valuable, adoptable animals. Paws is solely funded by donations and fundraisers. Paws rescues and makes available for adoption homeless and unwanted animals. Paws’ Place Adoption Center is located at 139 East Vienna Street in Downtown Anna, IL. The Humane Society of Southern Illinois’ mission has always been to care for homeless or unwanted pets in whatever way they can. They provide a warm, safe and happy environment for as many animals as they are able. Their goal is to help all of those animals find permanent forever homes with a loving family who can provide for them. St. Francis CARE is a 501c3 no-kill all-breed animal rescue in Southern Illinois. They rescue homeless, abandoned and unwanted animals. They provide shelter and vet care for these animals while working towards finding them forever homes. They offer many opportunities for community involvement, such as: volunteering, donating, adopting and participating in fundraisers.
